📦 Postage, Packing & Shipping Terms

H&H Auctioneers provides an in-house postage and packing service for selected lots as a convenience to buyers. This service is offered at the sole discretion of H&H Auctioneers and is subject to the terms set out below.

All items are shipped strictly at the buyer’s risk.

📮 Shipping Price Guide (UK Mainland)

• Up to 1kg – £11.95 + VAT

• 1–2kg – £13.95 + VAT

• 2–5kg – £17.95 + VAT

• 5–10kg – £24.95 + VAT

• 10–20kg – £39.95 + VAT

These charges include packaging materials, labour, and standard courier delivery.

📏 Oversized, Heavy & Specialist Items

Items that are large, heavy, fragile, or of an unusual shape may exceed standard courier limits and will incur additional charges.

Buyers are strongly advised to contact us prior to payment if they believe their item may fall into this category.
Where applicable, a bespoke packing and shipping quotation will be provided.

⚠️ Fragile & High-Risk Items

Fragile items including, but not limited to, glass, ceramics, pottery, and delicate antiques:

• May require additional packing materials and handling

• May incur a fragile packing surcharge

• Are shipped entirely at the buyer’s risk

Whilst every effort is made to pack items carefully and professionally, H&H Auctioneers accepts no liability for damage sustained in transit unless specific insurance has been requested and agreed in writing prior to dispatch.

❗ Refusal of Shipping

H&H Auctioneers reserves the right to decline to pack and/or ship any item deemed:

• Too fragile

• Too large or heavy

• Insufficiently robust for safe transit

In such cases, buyers will be required to arrange collection or a third-party courier.

⚠️ General Conditions

• Postage charges include packing materials, labour, and administration.

• Packing methods and materials are determined solely by H&H Auctioneers.

• H&H Auctioneers reserves the right to select the most appropriate courier for each shipment.

• Whilst we will endeavour to combine multiple lots where possible, this cannot be guaranteed and is subject to size, weight, and packing constraints.

• All goods are handled and packed to a professional standard.

• Risk and responsibility for the item transfers to the buyer once the item has been handed to a third-party courier.

• H&H Auctioneers shall not be held liable for delays, loss, or damage caused by third-party carriers.

• Enhanced packaging and transit insurance are available upon request at additional cost.

• Insurance is not included unless specifically requested and agreed in writing prior to dispatch.

⏱️ Dispatch

• Items will not be dispatched until full payment (including postage and packing charges) has been received and cleared.

• Items are normally dispatched within 3–5 working days following receipt of cleared funds.

• Dispatch times may be extended during busy auction periods.

📮 Shipping Requests

Buyers must request postage within 7 days of the auction.
Items not requested for shipping within this timeframe may be treated as uncollected.

​

🌍 International Shipping

International shipping may be available on request.
Buyers are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, import charges, and any associated fees.

​

📍 Collection

Collection in person is available by appointment and is recommended for larger, fragile, or high-value items.

​

📦 Storage & Uncollected Lots

Items must be collected or shipping arranged within 7 days of the auction unless prior arrangements are made.

H&H Auctioneers reserves the right to:

• Apply storage and handling charges

• Move items to alternative storage facilities

• Dispose of, re-offer, or otherwise deal with uncollected or unpaid items at its discretion

without further notice to the buyer.
